As we move deeper into the age of AI, there’s growing speculation that even the medical profession might be transformed—or in some cases, replaced—by artificial intelligence.
So, what does this mean for students who dream of becoming doctors?
The answer is simple: future doctors need to become experts at using AI in medicine.
Being a doctor who understands and utilizes AI will be essential for survival in the next generation of healthcare.
Recognizing this urgent need, the Toronto Centre for AI Research and Education in Medicine (T-CAIREM) at the University of Toronto has taken the lead by officially launching a Medical AI Bootcamp for High School Students.
This program is designed to nurture young talent who will lead future advancements in medical AI research and education.

Program Details:
Bootcamp Dates: October 6, 2025 (Monday) – October 10, 2025 (Friday)
Format:
4 days of in-person classes at Metro International Secondary Academy (MISA) in Thornhill, Ontario
Final day at the University of Toronto Chestnut Conference Centre
Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM daily
Coding skills: Not mandatory, but recommended
What Students Will Learn
Participants will explore how AI is transforming healthcare and receive hands-on training from University of Toronto medical students.
At the end of the program, students will present a final project at the University of Toronto’s conference centre and receive an official certificate of completion.
This is an exceptional opportunity for students aiming for medical school or those interested in AI-related medical fields. It provides both valuable experience and a strong addition to their academic portfolio.
